"You do," Jerry says, fingers running absently through her hair. Though he thinks it should be obvious, he's at least figured out that he can't really count on that being the case. That hardly matters, though, when he has no reason to mind saying so, when he spent so long not really able to. He could have, probably, but it wouldn't have been fair to either of them back home, just like doing anything more to try to get her to stay that morning wouldn't have been.
