"Got back an hour ago," Grace says, slipping her arms around his neck and kissing him again. "I'm glad I could spare you the humiliation." Whatever he might say to the contrary, it is kind of him to think of her and do this when he really doesn't have to. She certainly wouldn't expect it from him. Now that he's here, though, she isn't about to turn down what he's brought when she doubtless needs it anyway. He's the one who has a job right now, but it won't always be like that, and when she's got a job of her own, she can make it up to him somehow, try to cook him dinner or something. (Maybe by then she'll be a little more competent in the kitchen. When there's a lot less chance she'll be dining out, she has little choice but to improve.)
